With the invasion sirens wailing, the bounty hunters quickly led Roomt to the Rusty Kite’s docking station. All personnel had abandoned their posts so the crew set about starting everything up themselves. With the engines still warming up the proximity alarm sounded: life forms were in the area, and fast incoming. A pod of some sorts had landed nearby, and enormous insects were emerging. Rumsoy left the key in the ignition and sallied out with the rest of the crew to fend off this vanguard.

Seeing the insects skittering towards them en masse, the crew split up: Rumsoy and R3D-80T hung back firing into the mass to try and thin it out a bit while Wixoda slipped out with Roomt to try and flank the infestation with some long range fire.

The critters were proving tough so Rumsoy made an executive decision and activated his jump belt, bouncing after the other two humans and away from the bugs’ path. Unfazed, R3D continued blasting insects away with its plasma rifle until a mandible managed to short a circuit.

Rumsoy quickly caught up with the rest of the crew and, with the benefit of a long firing line, they gunned down the last of the creepy crawlies.

Unwilling to welcome any more waves of oversized invaders, the crew rolled the inanimate R3D up the Rusty Kite’s gangway and took off. As Roomt hard reset the battered bot, he reflected upon the need for decisiveness away from the comforts of his formerly safe high-tech home (+1 Reactions). Taking the bot’s wrecked shotgun and adding it to the to-be-repaired pile, he overheard the end of a recorded message begging Rumsoy for help. The captain’s face was grave; it looked like bounty hunting was now on hold (Quest started).
