Bipedal Crustaceans

More practicing with acrylic inks, this time going with highlights on top of an off-white drybrush, and then a full coat of red or brown. Yellow, green and black on a silver basecoat for the gun, with some messy edge highlighting on the weapon’s main body.

I find these easier than contrast paints – more forgiving if you go over an area that’s not quite dry. Just need to get a bit better at mixing inks to get the right colours, and then it could be a new favourite way of painting.

Alas, I lost one to an errant elbow, so the squad is just seven strong from a pack of eight until I can find a way to securely fix severed ankles.
